Wayide: Red Protocol
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Wayide: Red Protocol stores campaign progress, programs, suspended field states, level completion statistics, hints used, language, motion and sound preferences on your device. It caches the daily puzzle and queues daily results locally. When you submit an online daily result, the server automatically issues a random installation secret stored in the device Keychain. The backend stores only its SHA-256 hash, creation time, daily puzzle date, solved status, command count, hint count and recording time. There are no accounts, names, email addresses, passwords, location records or contacts requested by the app. Network requests also expose technical request information, such as IP address, request path, time and response status, to Railway hosting infrastructure. The public privacy website does not set cookies or require login.
How we use information
Local data lets you continue programs, undo execution, revisit restored terminals and preserve preferences. Public daily puzzle requests supply the UTC daily challenge. Installation-scoped results let the service retain anonymous daily completion statistics and authorize deletion for the installation that submitted them. The secret is a device authorization credential, not a user account or a means to sign in on another device. In-memory request counters are used to limit abuse. Technical server logs are used to operate and diagnose the service.
Service providers and sharing
The backend is hosted on Railway and its persistent volume stores the installation hashes and daily results. Railway and its infrastructure providers process network requests and may retain infrastructure logs. The app contains no advertising, analytics, social sign-in or third-party tracking SDKs. Results are not published to other players. Apple device backup services may include local application files when enabled by your device settings; the installation secret uses a device-only Keychain accessibility class. The owner does not sell personal data or send it to an email delivery service.
Data retention
Campaign and daily local data remain on the device until reset, removal of the app or deletion through device storage controls, subject to device backup settings. The daily cache is replaced by later downloaded puzzles. Queued submissions remain until successfully sent or cleared after server deletion. Server installation records and submitted results remain until the installation requests deletion; no automatic expiry is currently configured. Rate-limit counters are held in memory and are bounded and replaced as request windows change. The application logs startup and internal error request identifiers without recording secrets or result payloads. A specific retention period for Railway infrastructure logs is not asserted. No scheduled application-level backup job is configured; infrastructure snapshots, if retained by the provider, are subject to its practices rather than an invented fixed duration.
Deleting your information
Settings provides Delete installation server data. A successful authorized request atomically deletes that installation and its daily results from the active server database, clears the local submission queue and removes its Keychain secret. Other installations are unaffected. Local campaign progress remains unless you separately choose Reset local progress. The next submitted online result creates a new installation. Resetting local progress does not delete previously submitted server results. If the secret is lost, the app cannot recover or authorize deletion of an old installation through login. Deletion from the active database does not promise immediate erasure of residual SQLite pages, infrastructure logs or any provider-retained snapshots; these are not used to restore the deleted installation to active service. You can contact endel.appleton@icloud.com with privacy questions without sending a secret.
Permissions and your choices
The app requests no device permission for location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts or notifications. Network access retrieves daily puzzles and submits results; the offline campaign remains usable without a connection. You can stop future online processing by keeping the app offline or removing it. If you want server records deleted, use the deletion control while connected before losing the installation secret. Device backup choices can be changed in your Apple device settings. Sound and motion can be changed within the app.
Your privacy rights
You may review and reset your local game data and request deletion of this installation's server results using Settings. Applicable privacy laws may provide additional access, correction, restriction or deletion rights. Contact endel.appleton@icloud.com for privacy requests or questions. Do not send the installation secret in an email. Because there is no account or identifying profile, the owner may be unable to associate a request with a lost installation credential. The privacy contact is not a registration or app messaging feature.
Security
Production communication uses HTTPS. The installation secret is stored in the device-only Keychain; the backend stores its hash and checks bearer authorization before result writes and deletion. Tokens are issued randomly per installation and are never shared credentials. Server inputs are validated, payload sizes and request rates are limited, and SQLite transactions preserve deletion consistency. Game data is stored in the app's local storage sandbox. These safeguards reduce risk but do not guarantee absolute security or availability.
Children’s privacy
This programming puzzle is intended for players aged 12 and older. It does not ask players to provide an identifying profile, communicate with other players or purchase content. The service nevertheless processes installation-scoped results and technical network information as described above. A parent or guardian with a privacy concern can contact endel.appleton@icloud.com. The app does not intentionally solicit personal information from young children.
Changes to this policy
This policy describes the current app and backend. If data practices change, the policy will be updated at this public privacy URL with a new effective date. Material changes will be reflected in the app's accessible Privacy Policy link and relevant release information. Review the policy when installing an update.
